Week 7: Happy Deepavali

Happy Deepavali to all indian that celebrate deepavali today. What mommy doing today? Well...Hanim and mommy online facebook. Only playing facebook??? No! We conduct an interview session in facebook. Online interview okeeyyyy...

For web background, i nak you letak fine gold 999 or barang2 kemas seperti rantai, bracelet, ring...

Layout = 2 columns, 4 rows:
Row 1 (merge column) for company name, logo and log in. Log in tu you buat sebaris...Then, letak kerawang2 atau bunga2 as a background tp kurangkan opicitynye....
Row 2 (merge column) for nagivation menu iaitu Home, Our Company, Products, Supplier, Guestbook, Contact Us. Navigation menu tu you buat dalam bentuk flash. Bile user hover the menu, ade sound and warna bertukar.
Row 3 (2 columns) for content. Column 1 80% width & Column 2 20% width. Column 1 tu i nak letak slideshow utk view our new products. Column 2 tu i nak letak jadual ade berat emas, jual beli emas. Background utk column 3 letak tabung duit n kurangkan opicitynye. Bawah letak ayat "Glod is independent, show your true wealth by keeping gold".

Week 6: Interaction Design

Supposedly mommy going to class BUT mommy in the hospital. Why? Because mommy's son, Aqil was warded due to lung infection. Aqil cough about 2 weeks until he hard to breath at the midnight. Mommy so worried and quickly bring him to the hospital. So, mommy with aqil in the hospital. Never mind! As long aqil get well soon~~~



After we are discharged, mommy contact faizah and azaref, ask them what task that mommy should do. They told mommy, we need to sketch a webpage but MUST include interaction design elements. We need to conduct an interview with client, gather information and requirement in what they need in their webpage. So, mommy's partner is hanim because hanim and mommy are not attended the class. huhuhu...

So, mommy ask them hanim's phone number and facebook. Oh, mommy forgot! Next week, class cancel because Deepavali Celebration. Mommy had a lot of time to do this task. lalalala~~~ For all indian out there, Happy Deepavali!

Week 5: Web Design Fundamentals

Mommy so excited today because mommy very satisfied with last week assignment. Are you remember what kind of assignment we need to do??? Of course! Slide presentation by using prezi. After last discussion on facebook (online group discussion), we are ready to present. First presenter maybe??? Wow! Too excited huh?

Ok, the class begin with some theory. Why we must know the theory behind the design? It is important okeeeyyy...It is to make sure you design correctly by following the client needs. Not like you design follow your feeling. 

Dr Affandy ask us, What is the purpose of web design?
  • To inform or persuade users
  • This is accomplished by:
          a) delivering content
          b) presenting the content in a way that benefits the user.

Then, Dr Affandy show us some templates and asked us to write down what we like and do not like according to the templates he had shown. We discuss together. What mommy can conclude that, before we create the template, we need an information from client. After that, we must interview them. Firstly we need to know, who the target audience, what kind of business they run and the layout they need. Then we can start the sketches.

The notes below:
Before the presentation started, Dr Affandy asked us to discuss among group members, what are the most important to observe when designing a website? Dr Affandy gave us 10 minutes to discuss and one person will present. Our group members says,
a) layout,
b) concept/target user,
c) design principles, and
d) title/header are the most important things to observe.

The exactly answer is.....USER REQUIREMENT. Oh gosh! How can mommy forgot about user requirement??? huhuhu...

Week 4: 2 Topics Today! Lalalala~~~

Hai everyone! In week 4, we have learned TWO topics which are Web Development Process and Project Management In Web Design and Production. Before start the class, Dr Affandy asked us to create a group of 3. Only 1 group will have 4 members. So, mommy's group members are:
As usual, my best ever friend, Faizah

Rajesh
"Happy working together babes!"

Okey, what we need to do is, we must choose one subject. Then, specifically into sub-topic. Make sure the subject that we choose is secondary school level. After that, we need to sit down together, make a discussion about:
a) Learning problems (need reference which from journals)
b) Solutions to learning problems
c) Learning objectives
d) Content of the website
e) Target group/audience
Lastly, create a slide presentation and put all this things into it. Oppsss! It must done by using P.R.E.Z.I okeeeyyy...:)

After class finished, we decided to go to library and start the discussion. Every of us had different task. Then, Azaref create online group discussion at facebook to make sure we easy to contact.

Week 3: Exploring Prezi

Last week, Dr Affandy asked us to explore more about prezi. In this stage, mommy can create an interactive slide for presentation. What mommy can say is, how advanced the technology we had, if we are not born as a creative person or try to be creative, the results is same. Why? Because this prezi also need creativity to create an interactive slide. You need to plan, how its moving from where to where, where its begin and end, what happen after this path, and etc. 

Yes! Mommy agreed that prezi an awesome software rather than other software for presentation. Mommy so amazed when first time looked at the example of prezi. Mommy get too excited when using it for the first time until promoted this prezi to mommy's younger brother. 


This is some guidelines that mommy can share with all of you. This is what mommy applied before mommy create a slide using prezi:
1. Plan the path. Rough sketch.
2. Google the pictures, videos that you wish to put inside your prezi.
3. Prepare the text.
4. Transform from sketch to prezi.

Done!

If you still blurrrr, try search the prezi example or tutorial in youtube. You might get some ideas to do your prezi. So, good luck!

Week 2: Discussion

Before start the class, Dr. Affandy told us that next week the class will be canceled. It doesn't mean we are on holiday okeyyy...Dr. Affandy never leave us with empty task. Seriously! 
The task that Dr. Affandy given: 
  1. We MUST give our blog link through his email (fandymcl@gmail.com)--> Done!
  2. Explore and try the new technology software for presentation, Prezi (http://prezi.com/) --> Need more study

Then, mommy ask a question to Dr. Affandy,
Mommy: Which language we need to use to writing our blog, Malay or English?
Dr. Affandy: It depends on you...Which one you prefer to use...But don't mixed up both languages! 

Frankly speaking, mommy want to write this blog in Malay but mommy need to enhanced mommy English. Mommy English in a middle level (not very poor and not very good), kot...Hahaha. What ever laaa~~~ BUT that's the reason why mommy wrote in English. For all English teacher, mommy really sorry if mommy writing will make you laugh out loud okeyyy...Hehehe...

Ok, back to the story...Dr. Affandy start with his first slide presentation. As usual (like previous class - Technology Media & Design), his end up with discussion on certain topic/slide. See below...

  • Web design using web authoring software VS CMS VS Blog?
    • CMS - A content management system (CMS) is a system providing a collection of procedures used to manage work flow in a collaborative environment. Ex: Drupal, Joomlaa, Mambo, Xoops and etc
    • Blog - A blog (a blend of the term web log) is a type of website or part of a website. Blogs are usually maintained by an individual with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video. Entries are commonly displayed in reverse-chronological order. Blog can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog. Ex: blogspot, wordpress
    • Web authoring software like Dreamweaver...

Mommy 1st class!

Hai everybody! New semester already started...Mommy went to MPT1393 class on 14th September 2011. It was a great class! Mommy met some old friends from mommy's previous class. And mommy was very happy because this class more practical than theory. We are asked to do a group project and upload it into UTM server. Mommy will story mory you all one-by-one, ok?

First of all, our lecturer is Dr. Noraffandy Yahya asked us to develop a web based system which are:
a) based on research
b) study the journal that had released
c) journal about computer & education
d) study about learning strategies
e) identifying the concept
f) apply instructional design and design principles

This is what mommy got from what Dr. Affandy were told us. And the below is what mommy got from Dr. Affandy's slide:

The website should contain the following aspects:
  • Application of active learning strategies. (3-5 journals)
  • Interactive application involving storage of user input data into database/file.
  • Integrating all elements of multimedia
  • Dynamic, educational and commercial quality
Journals: Computer & Education, Interacting With Computers, Computer Assisted Learning, Australian Journal of Educational Technology, Educational Technology & Society, British Journal of Educational Technology.

Mommy already search the related journal and print BUT mommy didn't read it yet.hehehe...

Ok, continue....The marking will be based on four main factors:
  • Technique in presenting the learning content
  • Interactive elements
  • Creativity and originality
  • Technical Aspect
REMINDER! Any project that are found to be the act of plagiarism, the group will automatically be given ZERO mark. The project developed for this course is NOT TAKEN from any previous/current undergraduate/postgraduate or thesis.

We also got individual assignment...haaa, see! First class we got first assignment. 

Assignment 1 (INDIVIDUAL)
Assignment refers to the development of a website evaluation from that contains some of the following construct.
  1. suitability of learning strategy
  2. suitability of interface design
  3. suitability of interaction design
  4. motivational development
  5. interest development
  6. website features/strength
  7. weakness of website
